About this grant

Supports projects that invest in education for farmers leading to measurable changes in farmer behavior, decision-making, and practices that increase the sustainability of farming in the Northeast United States. Projects may include an applied research component related to educational activities, and must engage farmers in demonstrating need and project design. Eligible project leaders include farmers, nonprofits, universities, cooperative extension, and agricultural service providers.

Eligibility

Project activities must primarily take place in the Northeast region (CT, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, WV, VT, DC)
Project leader may only submit one proposal per grant program per year
Host organization must be able to sign a contract with Northeast SARE
Host organization must have funds to cover at least the first two months of project expenses (reimbursement-based grant)
Host organization must be able to register in SAM.gov for a Unique Entity Identifier if awarded
Past SARE grant recipients with unfinished projects or unfilled reporting requirements are ineligible
Current grant recipients delinquent in project reporting are ineligible
Members of the Northeast SARE Administrative Council, SARE staff, and SARE State Coordinators are ineligible
