About this grant

Funds community emergency preparedness needs for which adequate federal or state funding cannot be secured. Supports activities such as establishing Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), aerial support for damage assessment and search and rescue, and sheltering operations under Emergency Support Function 6. Eligible applicants include private and nonprofit organizations.

What you get

Up to $10,000 for establishing and administering new CERT teams (two separate funding opportunities)
Up to $10,000 for aerial support for damage assessment, search and rescue, and public warning
Up to $50,000 for sheltering operations under ESF-6: Mass Care and Human Services
Project funding period from November 20 through June 30, 2027

Proposal submitted by 4:30 p.m. October 30, 2026

Eligibility

Must be a private or nonprofit organization
Project must address community emergency preparedness needs
Adequate federal or state funding for the need must not be available
Proposals must be received by 4:30 p.m. on October 30 (received-by deadline, not postmark)
