About this grant

Supports organizations that attract and host new sporting events in Pennsylvania by reducing the cost to market, bid for, and acquire the rights to qualified sporting events. Funding covers marketing to event site selectors, bidding costs, rights acquisition costs, and related administrative expenses. Priority is given to events focused on outdoor recreation and those that encourage multiple overnight stays.

Exhibit 1: Project Description including timeline, employment opportunities, and community benefits
Exhibit 2: Funding commitment letters from all other project funding sources
Exhibit 3: Cost estimate prepared by a qualified professional with supporting bids/quotations
Worker Protection and Investment Certification Form (BOP-2201)
Vendor Registration with the Commonwealth's Vendor Registration System

Eligibility

Must be a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), sports association, nonprofit specializing in sporting events, or for-profit business specializing in attracting and securing sporting events
Project must involve a Qualified Sporting Event that uses competitive bidding for site selection
The event must not have been previously held within Pennsylvania in the last two preceding years
Projects may not commence work prior to receiving DCED approval
Applicant must be registered with the Commonwealth's Vendor Registration System
Must certify nondiscrimination compliance under the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act
Must certify compliance with all applicable Pennsylvania state labor and workforce safety laws
