About this grant

Provides competitive grants to Indian Tribes, Alaska Native entities, and Native Hawaiian organizations to promote broadband adoption, digital equity, and connectivity within their communities. Funded activities may include broadband use and adoption programs, workforce development, educational and employment opportunities, equipment provision, and public access computing centers. Projects should complement existing federal broadband infrastructure investments, particularly the BEAD Program.

Total program funding pool of no less than $250,000,000 reserved for Native Entities
Four-year period of performance to expend grant funds

How to apply

Project Narrative including Executive Summary (up to 1,000 words), demonstrated need, funded activities, project plan, and implementation team description
Tribal Government Resolution or equivalent formal authorization
Budget narrative and cost-sharing/matching documentation
Certifications Regarding Debarment and Suspension (Appendix A)
Assurances required under 47 U.S.C. §1724(f) (Appendix B)
SAM registration
Environmental and Historical Preservation documentation (if construction/ground-disturbing activities proposed)
Alignment with State Broadband Office and BEAD implementation plan description

Eligibility

Must be an Indian Tribe, Alaska Native entity, Native Hawaiian organization, or a consortium/partnership of such entities
Must appear on a recognized federal or state list of eligible Native entities prior to application window closing
Must submit a Tribal Government Resolution or equivalent formal authorization from the governing body
Must contribute at least 10% matching funds (waiver available upon petition demonstrating financial need)
Eligible Entities may only submit a single application
An Eligible Entity may only participate in one application (individual or consortium)
Must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM)
