About this grant

Supports farm-to-school efforts that connect Connecticut children with local food while strengthening local agriculture and nutrition education. Grants are organized around three categories: Cafeteria, Classroom, and Community. Both full grants and microgrants are available to a wide range of educational and childcare organizations, as well as farmers and organizations that administer farm-to-school programs.

Full grant awards up to $50,000
Microgrants up to $5,000
Total program funding of $950,000 available

How to apply

Eligibility

Local and regional boards of education are eligible
Regional education service centers are eligible
Private schools and institutions are eligible
Colleges and universities including student-led groups are eligible
Cooperative arrangements under section 10-158a are eligible
Childcare centers, group childcare homes, and family childcare homes under section 19a-77 are eligible
Organizations or entities including Connecticut farmers that administer or support farm-to-school programs are eligible
