About this grant

This pilot program provides Houses of Worship and affiliated nonprofit organizations with free energy assessments, contractor referrals, and elevated financial incentives for energy-efficient building upgrades. Participants receive step-by-step guidance from an Energy Specialist throughout the upgrade process, along with ongoing coaching through a Green Team. The program is designed to help faith communities reduce energy waste while strengthening their sustainability practices.

Qualified list of Trade Ally contractors in your community
Step-by-step assistance from Energy Specialist on obtaining quotes and performing upgrades
Elevated incentives of 75% of the first $20,000 in project costs
50% of project costs thereafter, up to $30,000 in total incentives
Information on no-cost energy-savings measures for membership
Ongoing coaching and support through a Faith in Place Green Team

Completed interest form via GrantInterface portal

Eligibility

Must own their facility
Must have a 501(c)(3) designation or be an IRS self-declared House of Worship
Must be in operation for multiple hours, at least four days per week
Must not have participated in the Focus on Energy nonprofit accelerator program
Must not have received more than $5,000 in funds from Focus on Energy in the last year
Must be willing to form a Faith in Place Green Team for ongoing coaching and support
Must be located in the southeastern quadrant of Wisconsin (between Madison and Milwaukee)
