About this grant

Funds nonprofit microenterprise development organizations, government microenterprise programs, and Indian tribes to provide technical assistance and guidance to disadvantaged microentrepreneurs. Recipients may operate individually or as part of a collaborative, and must have a demonstrated record of delivering microenterprise services. The program supports capacity building and direct assistance to help low-income entrepreneurs start and grow small businesses.

Eligibility

Must be a private nonprofit microenterprise development organization, a microenterprise development program run by State/Local/Tribal Government, or an Indian tribe
Must have a demonstrated record of delivering microenterprise services to disadvantaged entrepreneurs
Nonprofit entities may apply individually or as part of a Collaborative
All parties to a Collaborative must separately meet PRIME Program eligibility criteria
Indian tribes may apply independently only if no qualifying private organization exists within their jurisdiction
Religious organizations may only conduct explicitly religious activities outside federally funded programs and at a separate time or location
Must not discriminate against beneficiaries on the basis of religion or religious belief
Cost sharing or matching is required
