About this grant

Provides seed funding to organizations involved in ministry to Black Catholics, supporting new and existing programs that promote the Gospel within parishes, schools, and communities. Funded programs must align with an (Arch)diocesan Pastoral Plan of Action or one of five identified focus areas including family strengthening, Catholic education, spirituality, youth re-engagement, and community evangelization. Organizations may receive funding for a maximum of three grant cycles.

Organization contact information and board/committee member names
Program description including history, mission, and alignment with Pastoral Plan of Action or NBCC focus areas
Copy of (Arch)diocesan Pastoral Plan of Action (if applicable)
Balanced budget template showing income and expenses
Impact statement with three examples of how the program will spread the Catholic Faith in the Black Catholic community
Scope statement (local or national)
Signed letter of support on official stationery from an approved source

Eligibility

Must be rooted in ministry to Black Catholics
Organization's mission and practices must align with the (Arch)diocesan Pastoral Plan of Action or one of the five identified NBCC focus areas
Organizations may receive funding for a maximum of three grant cycles (consecutive or non-consecutive)
Must submit a letter of support from an approved source (e.g., Diocesan Chancellor, Director of Diocesan Office of Black or Multicultural Ministries, etc.)
Applications for capital improvements are not accepted
Grant funds cannot be used for salaries, daily office supplies, or day-to-day operational expenses
