About this grant

Supports nonprofit organizations with projects designed to improve the lives of people in an 18-county service area in southern Colorado. Priority areas include community improvements, alleviating cycles of illiteracy and poverty, and expanding educational opportunities for young people. Preference is given to capital and equipment needs over administrative salaries, and to established organizations with demonstrated program success.

Eligibility

Must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization
Must serve people in the 18-county service area (Pueblo Chieftain circulation area in Colorado)
Organizations established for more than three years preferred
Funding requests only accepted every other year from the same organization
No direct grants to individuals
No political organizations, campaigns, or candidates
No sectarian or religious organizations whose services are directed only to members
No veteran, labor, fraternal, or social club organizations
