About this grant

Funds school-based and community-based organizations to build sustainable career pipeline programming for rural high school students in grades 9-12 to explore healthcare occupations. Recipients will support students in acquiring foundational healthcare skills and creating meaningful connections with healthcare professionals and employers. Programming is delivered through high school instruction, postsecondary enrollment, and workforce development opportunities.

What you get

Grant award of up to $125,000
Performance period from September 15, 2026 through August 31, 2027
Up to four awards will be made from $500,000 total available funding

Application submitted via State of Maine Vendor Self-Service (VSS) system
Questions submitted via VSS by July 23, 2026 at 4 p.m.
Full application submitted via VSS by August 4, 2026 at 4 p.m.

Eligibility

Must be a school-based organization providing education to students in grades 9-12 (including SAUs and high schools) OR a community-based organization with a history of partnering with schools to deliver career/workforce development opportunities
Community-based organizations must partner with a school-based organization for this RFA
Must serve rural Maine schools and students as defined under the Rural Health Transformation Program
Must be able to access the State of Maine Vendor Self-Service (VSS) system to submit application
